Italy and Spain will contest the European Trophy final after both sides came through their second games of the competition with victories.
Spain hammered Belgium 66-0 while Italy had a tougher task in beating Sweden 10-0. France A lost their second game in a row after they were defeated by the Netherlands and Russia edged Germany.
Spain 66 - Belgium 0
Spain had a very easy ride against the Belgiums.
It took the Spanish, who had beaten Netherlands and France A earlier in the week, just 20 minutes to grab a bonus point with four tries and secure their spot in the final.
Spain used the game to give some game-time to new players anc coach Inés Etxegibel said: "It was very useful for the younger players of the national team to acquire international experience. Whatever the outcome,we had to play focused and we did."
"The 26 players now have to have one goal in mind: to win the final. "
Spain and Italy last played at the Europeans last year where the Spanish team beat Italy on a tight 12-7 scoreline.
Italy 10 Sweden 0
The Italy game with Sweden was a much closer affair as expected. Both sides had come into the game with two wins under their belt and with both hoping to lift the title it was always going to be a tight game.
Italy started well and put pressure on the Swedish team spreading the ball quickly for Maria Veronese to score. Veronica Schiavon converted and added a penalty before half time to stretch the lead.
Coach Andrea Di Giandomenico said: "We played a very physical game I am pleased to have achieved the objective of the final, even if Spain are a worry."
France A 5 Netherlands 14
Netherlands bounced back from their loss against Spain in the earlier rounds in this match and though they failed to reach the final, they will be targeting third place in the competition with a victory over Sweden this weekend.
It is the first time the Dutch have beaten a French XV (1st XV or "A") since 1986 and ensures a disappointing competition for the France A side who also lost to Spain earlier in the competition.
In the other game of the day Russia ensured they didn't go home winless by defeating Germany 17-14.
