The host nation are joined  at the 15 aside event by Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, and a Caribbean Selects side which is likely to include the top players from teams such as Barbados.

Wales will play South Africa in the 9/10th placed playoffs after their victories in the first playoffs. Wales beat Sweden 34-10 while South Africa beat Kazakhstan 24-10.

Wins for France and Scotland in Pool C

France stunned Canada with an 18-8 victory over the more in-form team to secure their semi-final spot. Scotland beat Sweden in the other game in the third pool.
